BCTE is a joint venture between International Quartz Ltd. and Beijing Post and Telecommunication Telephone Equipment Factory (formerly known as the #508 Factory) to manufacture and promote sales of telephones in the People’s Republic of China.

Consistent with Chiaphua’s entrepreneurial spirit, the joint venture was set up in late 1993 to capture a share of the growing demand for high quality telecommunications equipment. Beijing Telecom’s knowledge of the PRC’s market and its vast distribution network combined with IQL’s expertise in design and manufacturing of premium quality telephones makes this partnership a formidable competitor in the market.
